MBA Direct Admission
through SNAP Test:
Symbiosis National Apptitutde Test (SNAP Test) is the
gateway for Post Graduate Programmes of Symbiosis International University.
Since 2007, candidates aspiring to join MBA programs offered
by institutes of Symbiosis International University have to take the common,
mandatory Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test. A candidate used to register
for SNAP Test & then register with the institutes offering his/ her choice
of program by paying separate institution registration fees. If shortlisted,
he/she would then attend the GE-PIWAT process conducted by each of these
institutes.
In the Entrance Test candidate is judged on his/her English,
General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and Analytical & Logical
Reasoning.
After shortlisting candidate under goes extensive process of
Group Exercise, Personal Interaction and Writing Ability Test (GE-PIWAT).

HOW TO APPLY
The Selection process is carried out in two steps.
Step I: SNAP Test
Step I: SNAP Test
- Each student desirous of admission
to SIBM, Pune must appear for Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test,
which is a common written test for the admission to all Symbiosis
postgraduate institutes.
- For SNAP Test information log on
to http://www.snaptest.org and register. Get your SNAP-ID. This
SNAP-ID should be entered while applying to SIBM, Pune.
- Preserve the Admit Card of SNAP
Test for further selection process at SIBM, Pune. Appearing for SNAP Test
does not automatically qualify an applicant for the next step in selection
process at SIBM, Pune.
Step II: Selection Process at SIBM, Pune
- Each student desirous of admission
to SIBM Pune must apply SIBM, Pune separately, using the link given
at the website.
- Short-listed Applicants based on
SNAP scores will be called for the selection process at SIBM,
Pune. Short listed candidates are announced via a web-link on SIBM
Pune’s website as per the scheduled dates. Individual regret letters will
not be sent to applicants who are not called for GE-PIWAT. The entire
selection process will be held at PUNE only.
This process
includes Group Exercise, Personal Interview & Written Ability Test
(GE-PIWAT).
Caution: Candidates
should take due care to enter the correct details while filling the forms. At
any point of time during the entrance process or even after securing admission,
if details are found incorrect then candidate will be disqualified or after
securing admission, admission will be cancelled without assigning the reason.
Important Instructions
- In all correspondence with SIBM
-Pune, candidates must mention their SNAP ID, SIBM, Pune Application
Number, legible name, email id, contact telephone number (with STD code)
if applicable and address with PIN Code.
- Applicants are advised to refer to our
website for updated information. No separate communication will be sent.
- Authorised SNAP Admit Card must be
produced for appearing in the selection process.
- Short-listed candidates for Step II
(GE-PIWAT) will be announced on SIBM Pune’s web site as per the schedule
published
- Merit list will be published on the

Symbiosis Test Secretariat reserves the right to change or allot a city other than the one requested by the candidate in the event of the requested city not being available for any reason.
E. RESERVATION POLICY
As per the UGC Regulations/ Guidelines, following will be
the reservation policy for admission to any programme of Institutes of SIU
(except Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, which has separate policy #)
A. WITHIN SANCTIONED INTAKE
- Scheduled
Caste (SC): 15%
- Scheduled
Tribes (ST): 7.5%
- Differently
Abled*: 3%
B. OVER & ABOVE INTAKE
- Kashmiri
Migrants: 2 seats per programme
- International
Candidates: 15%
Candidates applying from categories other than Open
Category are required to submit valid supporting document(s) at the time of
GE-PIWAT (if shortlisted).
*DIFFERENTLY ABLED CATEGORY (DAC) AT SIU
In compliance to Govt. Directives on disability guidelines
issued by the office of the Chief Commissioner for persons with disabilities
vide Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment New Delhi notification no.
16-18/97 on dated 01st June 2001 and University Grants Commission Notification
No. F.6-1/2006 (CPPII/ SCT) dated 30/09/2009, SIU has made provision of
reserving 3% seats for Differently Abled Category (DAC) students in all the
Institutes of SIU.

All candidates claiming admission under DAC will be
provisionally admitted under the said category. Thereafter, the candidate will
be required to obtain an 'Authentication Certificate' from Symbiosis Centre of
Health Care (SCHC) within one month of commencement of the program. SCHC will
check validity of documents produced by the candidates and verify the continued
existence and extent of the disability.
#FOR SYMBIOSIS INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES (SIMS)
As per MoU with Ministry of Defence clause no. 13 sub clause
(d) The term Defence Personnel would mean only those serving / retired Defence
Personnel from the Army, Navy and Air Force who fall in the category of
ex-serviceman as laid down vide Ministry of Defence Letter no. 36034/5/85 -Estt
(SCT) dated 14th April, 1987.
RESERVATION OF SEATS WITHIN THE INTAKE IS
- Defence
Category- General: 80% seats for dependents (Children/Ward) of Defence
personnel. (as per merit)
- Defence
category- Special: 10% seats for dependents of Defence personnel killed in
action (war, Counter Insurgency or war like operation), disabled in action
(war, Counter Insurgency or war like operation), with more than 50%
disability, next of kin of service personnel who have died while in
service, death being attributable to military service. (as per merit)
- Open
Category: 10% seats are in open category to civilian candidates sponsored/
recommended by the Industry (as per merit).
RESERVATION OF SEATS OVER AND ABOVE INTAKE
- Officers
of Armed Forces on Study Leave as authorized by respective Services HQs
are granted automatic admission subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
