HISTORY OF THE INSTITUTE
Symbiosis has been in the business of
management education since 1978. Having successfully launched the flagship
Symbiosis Institute of Management in the said year Symbiosis Internationally

SCMS Noida BBA SUBJECT GUIDELINES AND ELECTIVES
The BBA Programme at Noida offers the
‘Cafeteria approach’ to students to select subjects of their choice. There will
be four core subjects in every semester which are compulsory. Each core subject
carries 4 credits and will be taught for 60 hours. Apart from these, the
students have to select three elective courses. Elective courses carry 3
credits each and will be taught for 45 hours.
Guidelines:
- A student is required to gain 150 credits for a Bachelor’s degree @ 25 credits per semester.
- Each core course is for 4 credits and each elective course is for 3 credits.
- All core courses are compulsory.
- In each semester the student would require to gain at least 9 credits from any of the streams and complete all the core courses of the semester i.e. a student is required to take 3 elective courses and 4 core courses in each semester.
- At the end of the third year, the student would have gained 96 credits from 24 core courses and 54 credits from 18 elective courses.
- In addition, a student would be required to take compulsory certificate courses of 2 to 3 credits each on courses namely Constitution of India, Business Ethics, Disaster Management etc. These credits will be over and above the stipulated 150 credits of the BBA programme. These credits will be suitably spaced out during the course of the three years of the programme.
The electives can be selected from a
variety of streams as listed below:
- Corporate Management
- Banking, Finance and Insurance
- Retail Management
- Travel and Tourism
A student would be awarded a BBA
degree in a particular stream if he has gained at least 30 out of 54 elective
credits in one stream (i.e., 10 out of the 18 courses must be of one particular
stream).
*Note: A stream would be offered only
if there are 30 students or more opting for it.

SCMS Noida AWARD OF DEGREE
On successful completion of the
course, the students will be awarded the degree of Bachelor of Business
Administration in their respective streams. As mentioned earlier, a student
would be awarded a BBA degree in a particular stream if he has achieved at
least 30 out of 54 credits in one stream (i.e. 10 out of 18 courses must be of
one particular stream).
A student may choose not to
specialize in any particular stream and may gain credits randomly from all
streams. In such a case he would be awarded a BBA degree (without any
specialization).

SCMS Noida EXAMINATION AND METHOD OF ASSESSMENT
In every semester, seven papers will
have both external and internal evaluation. Four core papers will have both
external and internal evaluation for 60 and 40 marks respectively. Three
elective courses carry external and internal evaluation for 45 and 30 marks
respectively.
Inter Institute Credit Transfer and
Integrated Disaster Management would be evaluated internally out of 100 and 75
marks respectively.
A student would be required to pass
in each head (Internal and External) independently.
From the academic year 2007-08,
Symbiosis International University has shifted to the Cumulative Grade Point
Average (CGPA) system.
Every semester, students would be
awarded the Grade Point Average where grades would be awarded based on the
class average. The concept of minimum marks for passing therefore
becomes irrelevant. A student would be required to consistently perform well.
For internal evaluation, there will
be continuous assessment throughout the semester.
The external examination will be
conducted at the end of each semester. The students will be required to comply
with the formalities of the university regarding exams within the prescribed
time.

SCMS Noida INTERNSHIPS
Symbiosis Centre for Management
Studies (SCMS, Noida) is committed to offering a programme that helps a student
relate the theory taught in classrooms to the real time business environment.

Please read and understand the
instructions mentioned below before you proceed for registration. It is
mandatory to appear for the SET (Symbiosis Entrance Test) for admission to
Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies, Noida.
SCMS Noida Application Procedure:
For seeking admission to the
Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies, Noida students should adopt and
complete the following procedure: -
Step I:
The applicant must register online
for Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) Examination, 2017. For more details please
visit: set-test website
For mode of payment, please visit: set-test website Applicant
shall receive the prospectus from Symbiosis International University, Pune
only.
Step II:
While registering for SET, applicant
has to also apply for SCMS-N in the same application form. A fee of Rs. 1000/-
is to be paid for registration for SCMS-N. This is mandatory condition, without
which applicant will not be considered for short-listing for the PI-WAT
(Personal Interview and Writing Ability Test) process.
The payment for this can be made
online by credit card along with the payment of SET registration OR by
forwarding a Demand Draft in favour of “Symbiosis Centre for Management
Studies” payable at Noida, to the Institute OR by
paying through credit card at the time of online application to the institute OR through
Net Banking (account details are available on the Application form).
In case payment is made by Demand
Draft, please mention your name and the SET ID number on the back of the Demand
Draft and send it by speed post (EMS)/Registered AD.
Please ensure that payment of Rs.
1000/- for application for SCMS – Noida is made separately. Without this

The candidate should have passed 12th (10+2)
standard examination from any government-recognized board with minimum 50%
