CAT is the biggest and most important
MBA entrance exam, there are several other important ones. Colleges that come
under the central or state government often conduct separate state MBA entrance
exams or allow scores of some other tests. The basic purpose of a management
entrance exam is to test the candidate’s aptitude and ability. These are often
followed by consecutive rounds of group discussion, personal interview and
written admission tests. Only after clearing all the rounds does a candidate
get admission in one of the colleges.
CAT
CAT is the common admission test which
is conducted by IIM. It is the most popular management entrance exam which is
held annually in the month of November. It is the computer – based test with
the duration of 3 hours. The CAT scores are accepted by IIMs and other top
level management institutes of India. CAT is objective and descriptive type
entrance exam. CAT will have THREE (3) sections and the candidates will not be
allowed to switch from section to another. CAT underwent the massive changes in
terms of pattern, Schedule and test window. The candidates will be allowed to
use a basic on – screen calculator. CAT is one of the toughest entrance exams
and needs the rigorous preparation.
CMAT
Full Name: Common Management Admission

Technical education (AICTE)
CMAT is the national level management
entrance examination which is conducted in the month of January. It is the
second largest management examination in the country. The CMAT scores are
accepted by the more than 500 top level management institutes of the country.
It is the computer based examination which tests the candidate’s ability in the
four sections. The time duration for this test is 3 hours. Being the second
largest exam, it needs the dynamic and vibrant preparation.
XAT
Full Name: Xavier Aptitude Test
Organizing Body: XLRI
XAT is one of the renowned management
entrance exams which is conducted at All India level to select the most
deserving candidates students for the management courses. This test is
conducted in the offline mode. There are more than 140 management institutes
which use XAT scores for selecting the candidates. XAT is conducted
approximately in 33 cities so as to facilitate the students. The time duration
for this exam is 3.5 hours. Owing to the high level, this exam needs the
consistent preparation.
SNAP
Full Name: Symbiosis National Aptitude

Another popular MBA Entrance Exam 2017
– 2018 is SNAP which is conducted in the month of December. It is the national
level management entrance exam which is primarily used for the admission in the
13 institutes under SIU. Apart from this, the SNAP scores are accepted by the
several MBA colleges of the country. SNAP is the offline entrance exam which
determines the candidate’s ability in four sections. 2 hours will be given to
the candidates to solve 180 questions. SNAP is objective in nature.
NMAT
Full Name: Narsee Monjee Admission Test
Organizing Body: Graduate management
admission council (GMAC)
NMAT is the management entrance exam
which is hosted by GMAC. This exam aims at providing admissions in the
management courses. It selects the candidates for admission in NMIMS University
and other business schools. It is generally conducted in the duration of good
75 days from October to December. It determines the candidate’s ability in
three sections. 2 hours will be allotted to the aspirants to solve the exam
with 120 MCQs.
MAT
Full Name: Management Aptitude Test
Organizing Body: All India Management Association
MAT is also known as the AIMA – MAT.
MAT is conducted FOUR times a year i.e. in February, May, September, and
December. It is the national level management entrance examination. This
reputed exam is organized in Offline and Online Mode and the candidate can
choose the mode of his convenience. The scores of AIMA – MAT is accepted by the
top level management institutes of India. There are 200 questions in MAT exam
paper. Each right yields ONE mark and each wrong answer is penalized with
negative 0.25 marks.
IIFT
Full Name: Indian Institute of Foreign
trade Exam
Organizing Body: IIFT
IIFT is the institute based entrance
exam which is scheduled in the month of November every year. This exam aims at
providing admission in IIFT Delhi and Kolkata campus. IIFT is organized in the
offline mode. The medium of this exam is English. 2 hours will be given to
solve IIFT exam paper. The exam determines the student’s ability in four
sections namely English comprehension, Quantitative aptitude, general awareness
and logical reasoning.
ATMA
Full Name: AIMS Test for Management

ATMA is one of the popular MBA Entrance
Exams 2017 – 2018 which is approved by the ministry of HRD for the admissions
of the management courses. Around 100 MBA institutes accept ATMA scores for
admission. The exam comprises of six sections. Around 3 – hours time duration
is provided to solve the question paper which contains 180 questions. ATMA is
conducted four times a year i.e. February, May, July, and December. It is the
national level management entrance exam.
IBSAT
Full Name: IBS Aptitude Test
Organizing Body: ICFAI business school,
Hyderabad
ICFAI is another most popular and
deemed management entrance exam of the country. This exam is scheduled in December
every year with the purpose to grant admission in the management courses. This
exam aims at providing admissions in the 9 IBS schools in Mumbai, Pune,
Kolkata, Jaipur, Bangalore, Ahmadabad and Hyderabad. IBSAT is objective in
nature. The time duration of 2 hours will be allotted to the candidates so as
to solve approx 120 multiple choice questions.
MICAT
Full Name: MICA Admission Test
Organizing Body: MIC Ahmadabad
Another MBA Entrance Exam 2017 – 2018
is MICAT which is conducted by MICA, Ahmadabad. This exam is generally
scheduled in the month of December (MICAT I) and February (MICAT II) every
year. MICAT is conducted with the purpose to offer admissions to the deserving
candidates in the flagship PGDM – C program. This is held in two parts MICAT –
I and MICAT – II. This exam is objective and subjective in nature. The exam is
conducted in online mode with the time duration of 2 hours and 5 minutes.
