INTRODUCTION
Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS) set up in
1993 is a premier Management Institute ranked amongst the top B-Schools in
India. SIMS is a constituent of the prestigious Symbiosis International
Institute and is the only MBA institute of its kind in India and a shining
example of PPP (Public Private Partnership) between Symbiosis and Govt of India
- Ministry of Defence since 2002. Its flagship MBA course is primarily for
Defence Personnel and their Dependents with some seats for Civilian candidates.
This ideal mix of defence dependents and civilians brings out the best in both
and ensures holistic development.
SIMS is an ISO 9001:2008 quality certified management
institute, one of the three institutes in complete Western India which is an
accredited "Centre for Corporate Governance" of the 'National
Foundation of Corporate Governance' (established by Ministry of Corporate
Affairs and CII) and one of the few recognised as a centre for Entrepreneurship
by Department of Science and Technology. SIMS encourages and promotes
entrepreneurial activities and has a small incubation centre for student
entrepreneurs. Each year students are encouraged to come up with innovative
ideas. Based on a rigours selection process the best ideas are then nurtured
and refined to run Campus Company at the Institute.The Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS) is a
business school situated in the Range hills in Khadki, near Pune, Maharashtra,
India. It is an accredited center for Corporate Governance.
The institute was established in 1993, under a memorandum of
understanding between the Ministry of Defence and the Symbiosis Society (now
Symbiosis International University) primarily to enable defence personnel and
their dependants to pursue management education. 80% of places in the
institute's MBA programme are reserved for dependants of defence personnel. 10%
are reserved for Special category (Defence), for dependants of Defence
Personnel killed in action/war/with more than 50% disability, next of kin, death
being attributed to military service(as per merit). 10% seats are in the Open
Category (formerly Industry Sponsored). Other programs include the PGPM and MBA
(Executive). SIMS has academic affiliations with Leeds Beckett University and
the Berlin School of Economics & Law.
The campus is spread over an area of 4 acres (16,000 m2) and
is fully residential. The academic block houses all 16 classrooms, the library,
a 450-seat auditorium, administrative offices, seminar rooms and an IT
laboratory.

Beckett University, UK, Bremen University, Berlin School of Economics Germany

MBA (Executive) is a 30 months program offered by Symbiosis

- Defence Category - Open/General: 80% seats for dependents (Children/Ward) of Defence personnel.
- Defence category- Special: 10% seats for dependents of Defence personnel killed in action (war, Counter Insurgency or war like operation), disabled in action (war, Counter Insurgency or war like operation), with more than 50% disability, next of kin of service personnel who have died while in service, death being attributable to military service.(as per merit)
- Open Category : 10% seats are in open category to civilian candidates.(as per merit). Officers on Study Leave : Serving Defence officers’ are permitted to undergo full time MBA course whilst on Study Leave, as per respective Service HQ regulations

HOW TO APPLY
For seeking admission to the Symbiosis Institute of
Management Studies students should complete the following procedure:
Step I:
The applicant must register and pay online for SNAP
(Symbiosis National Aptitude Test) Examination, 2016. SNAP 2016 test fee is INR
1500/-. This is not refundable. For more details please visit: www.snaptest.org
Step II:
While registering for SNAP, applicant has to also apply for
SIMS in the same application form. A registration fee of Rs. 1000/- is to be
paid to SIMS for each programme that the aspirant wishes to apply. This is
mandatory, without which the applicant will not be considered for short-listing
for the GE (Group Exercise) PI-WAT (Personal Interview and Writing Ability
Test) process for the respective programme(s).
MODE OF PAYMENT
ONLINE PAYMENT THROUGH CREDIT CARD:
The candidate may pay directly through Master or Visa card
online by following the instructions on the SNAP website after the
registration.
ONLINE PAYMENT THROUGH NET BANKING:
The candidate may transfer SNAP test fee to Symbiosis Test
Secretariat account using Net Banking option after the registration.
PAYMENT THROUGH DEMAND DRAFT:
Obtain a Demand Draft (DD) from any Nationalized Bank in
favour of “Symbiosis Test Secretariat” payable at Pune. Choose the mode of
Payment as 'DD Payment' in "Make Payment" Tab. Take a print of the
payment advice form, fill in the DD Details, sign and send it along with the DD
to the Please note: No capitation is charged for admission to any
programme at any institute of Symbiosis.
